No Glove, No Love

As enticing as the title of this might be, I’m not talking the down and dirty—unless your mind went to hockey gloves, and I can probably guarantee it did not. I digress…
As a Warrior Hockey VIP I get the pleasure and privilege of trying out their latest gear. Pretty cool, eh? Yeah, I said “eh”…I live in Canada now, deal with it.
So here is my review on the Alpha gloves:
In complete honesty, I was a bit skeptical of these gloves prior to trying them. I have always felt that hockey gloves specifically are a bit oversold in their descriptions from the company, but I was blown away at how accurate Warrior’s description was of these mitts.
First thing I noticed about these gloves, as well as their sticks is how incredibly light they are. Everything that this company produces is unlike anything else I have priorly used. The gloves that I was using prior to these were a bit chunky and heavy. Given, gloves are not heavy really to begin with, but when I compared the two, the difference was night and day.
The design of these gloves takes the traditional 4 roll glove and flips it on its head, giving a more modern feel and look. This glove has a sexy look to it. At least to me, but hey to each their own.

The most impressive thing about this glove to me is the “butter soft feel” as warrior likes to put it, and I think that is the perfect way to describe it. Any athlete knows that any new equipment needs to be broken in, in order to get the desired mobility and flexibility. I knew based off of reading Warrior’s description that this glove’s fit was comfortable and gives mobility off the shelf, but I did not think it would be to the extent that it was.
Off the shelf this glove is ready to go. It feels like you’ve already played quite a few games when you put them on for the first time. The mobility and flexibility is unmatched, unlike any other glove on the market right now. It enables the perfect grip and feel of the stick. (holding the ‘thats what she said’ joke) You can see the rolls on the back of the gloves move with ease as you move your hand around in glove. Stiffness is a non-issue here.
The hybrid flex cuff gives you the movement and free range you need, while still offering the utmost protection. Partner that with the hybrid taper fit and you have a game changer. The taper fit is what really modernizes a 4 roll glove. This glove is tailored to the shape of your hand, it almost feels like they took a mold of your hand and made a glove for it. It is not boxy or chunky by any standard, which is one of the things that I love most about it.
Most gloves I’ve seen or used are pretty much good for protection and thats about it. The Alpha QX gloves make it feel like you aren’t even wearing gloves, whilst still offering the maximum amount of protection. Now, I play beer league hockey. We all know that is where there are plenty of slashes and broken sticks due to the fact that we are NOT professionals out there.
I honestly can say that these gloves have saved me from quite a few broken fingers and have given me the extra edge I needed. Highly recommend to any hockey player, beer league or pro.
